it’s been a crazy few years

Life since 2020 + beyond

Sometimes I think about the past two years and I am in complete awe at the times we are living in. There are moments where it feels like the wild, wild, west but then again, there are moments of surreal beauty. In 2020, Soul Kisses Productions was buzzing with excitement as we prepared to launch our first scripted series. Never did we imagine that we would be releasing the series isolated from one another as we stayed in our homes for most of the year. At least, those of us in NY did. There was no launch party or watch parties. Instead, we found ourselves doing LIVES with the cast every week and creatively exploring ways to connect as we rolled out the series. We did the best we could and can say it was a successful roll-out. Even though it was the most unconventional release we could have ever anticipated.

Fast forward two years later, we are getting ready to release another season of Bubbly Brown Sugar. If the stars align, we will be able to get together with our fellow cast and crew to celebrate the unfolding of the art we created together. I am truly excited about it and what the future has in store. If you want to read up on other details about Bubbly, please visit our official site. Since we are birthing so much content, I wanted to create an inviting space to showcase what we’ve been working on now that the worst is behind us.

We had an amazing 2022 and can’t wait to share all of the projects with your all over the next few months. For starters, we produced a super-fun branded series for Chevy Equinox called the ‘Great Outdoors’ that took us all over the country. We also worked for a few nonprofits like the African American Forum Policy, plus we shot some short films and took home a few nominations for Our Love and Fade this festival season. Needless to say, we are ready to take things to the next level and we hope you join us for the ride.

Even though the world is moving forward, I do hope that those who read these are taking the time to heal from the trauma we collectively experienced across the globe. I pray you and your families are safe and are holding each other a little tighter these days. I hope you have the courage to let go of the things that no longer serve you and to take profound leaps of faith in pursuit of the things you want most. Here’s to an amazing rest of 2022 and beyond.
